Pili\u017eota Winery is the heir to a longstanding family tradition of viticulture and wine production, deeply rooted in the Dalmatian way of life - where the struggle for survival and the desire for progress intertwine with a passion for crafting noble wines. 

The \u0160ibenik wine region has long been known for its viticulture and we carry on this legacy through the production of premium indigenous red wines - Babi\u0107 and Plavina.\u2028Since the restoration of our family winery in 2002, our goal has been to unite traditional and modern approaches to winemaking.
This includes cultivating vines without pesticides, maintaining low grape yields per vine, hand-harvesting, fast grape processing, fermenting and aging wines in a modern wine cellar.

After establishing a strong presence in Croatia, a major challenge was introducing our wines to the USA.
Thanks to persistence and hard work, we succeeded and since 2010, we have been the first producers of indigenous Croatian Babi\u0107 and Plavina wines for the US market. Today, we distribute most of our wines there, to one of the most important global markets.

Babi\u0107 Wine<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

Babi\u0107 is the most renowned indigenous wine of the \u0160ibenik wine-growing region.
This distinctive red wine is deeply connected to the stony soils where the vine thrives amid the demanding conditions of intense sunlight, wind and scarce soil.
It is characterized by warmth and harmony, a deep ruby colour, soft and ripe tannins, pronounced aromas of dark fruit and spices and a strong structure with excellent aging potential.

Plavina is a bit fresher. softer, brighter, more restrained and elegant, so much so that one would never quess that it comes from a warmer climate on the rocky soils located right in front of the pristine Adriatic Sea! With all of the grapes strictly hand-picked, and the resulting wine given only a coarse filtration, we are proud to say that our family's Plavina has really expressed its authentic Dalmatian characteristics: lively acidity, fresh red berries and fruit, a solid tannin structure, and a hint of chocolate, with constant undertones of Dalmatian earthiness.
